Fresh off his Best Cinematography Award for the 2024 film The Gift and The Curse produced by Black Girls Film Camp, Timothy is embarking on his latest project of cultivating a community and championing underrepresented filmmakers in Orlando, FL his hometown.

“When I first moved back to Orlando from Atlanta I questioned if it was the right move because there really wasn’t a film presence in Orlando outside of the major players like Disney and Universal. But then my mindset shifted after conversations with my partner and I had to ask myself, why not me? Why can’t I put the city on the map by bringing cinema to Orlando” Timothy says passionately.

Blackmagic Filmmakers Collective is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Founded with the belief that the art of filmmaking should be accessible to all. The collective is designed to bring together filmmakers from all disciplines and experience levels to learn from, share with and inspire each other. Through education events and career advancement initiatives, they help underrepresented filmmakers grow their careers at no charge.

“I’m looking forward to working with the amazing Blackmagic Filmmakers Collective team and building rapport with the other chapter leads. Right now my goal is to increase the ecosystem of underrepresented filmmakers in Orlando and orchestrate networking events. With the landscape of filmmaking evolving rapidly, I’m a strong supporter of resources like the Blackmagic Filmmakers Collective to help bridge a gap while amplifying diverse voices and stories.”

Timothy’s current project I’m Fine executive produced by Tyrese Gibson (Transformers, Fast and Furious) and Chad Chambers (I’m Fine) will be making its domestic premiere on August 23, 2024 at the 15th Annual Bronze Lens Film Festival in Atlanta, Ga.
